Cambridge Composer’s Workshop with Dan Forrest and Vox Anima London
Join me as I premiere my first operatic work, The Story of La Llorona. The Story of La Llorona is a 15 minute opera scene commissioned by the OKCity Opera Company. This story follows 2 cousins sitting around a fire, telling the well-known Mexican folktale of La Llorona. This scene will be performed by Jeremy Small (El Primo), Gabi Gonzalez (La Prima), and Sarah Spurlin (La Llorona). Collaborative piano and music direction by Megan Clewell
I am thrilled to be learning from one of my biggest choral inspirations, Dan Forrest, this summer in Cambridge, UK. There will be a choral workshop with guest lectures by Anna Lapwood, Bob Chilcott, Paul Mealor, and Sarah Macdonald followed by rehearsals and a festival performance of Forrest’s “CREATION.”
